My little exploration in response to cam's question about functionality appears in order of posting, apparently by default. In this case it amounts to "top-posting" of the worst kind. ;-)
I won't frig around trying to weight them. I'll just note:
the logical order of these comments is:
1. Functionality of the new Cat Site?
2. good question cam, that's a good place to start
3. how's it all work? and: weighting posts

This was meant to be a comment on my previous comment. but it looks like it refers to Cam's original question. That's okay, 'cause I'm just exploring.
In my previous comment I misunderstood where it would appear. Its good it appears by default as a link under Cam's questions. I'd prefer this to appear as a link from my previous comment, but I suspect it won't. We'll see what happens.
On the question of weighting posts, I thought cam's was a basic question, so i added a +1 weighting to it which has brought it to the top of the front page, despite the date ordering of the posts. But that brings up the question: is this "the" cat site, or just preliminary discussion on how to build it? I spose we can play around first and clean it up later.

Last night at the cat hack I rushed in with bits and pieces cut and pasted from the current "how to be a cat" page. But it was a bad start for a new site. With headings abstracted from text (so the text is no longer immediately visible) it would be too easy to leave them as they were, out of date and mis-formatted. I have removed them.
Oops. Now having previewed the paragraph above, which is meant as a comment on Cam's question "How is this site going to work? How should it be configured?" I suspect it will end up being posted above it. Maybe we should be able to post comments-on-comments below them, and comments-on-the-site at the top. I'm all at sea with this uncertain format, and a little seasick with it.
